MoneroSwap looks like a very new privacy-first interface for swapping XMR, launched, based on its public footprint, sometime around spring 2026. The earliest content we found dates back to May 2026, while the current Terms are dated June 2, 2026. There is still very little independent history or a significant number of user reviews, so it is too early to consider the service well-established or proven over time.
The technical model is quite interesting. MoneroSwap is not a traditional exchange and does not appear to operate its own liquidity. It describes itself as an interface, while the actual swaps are executed by a third-party independent settlement network. Funds are sent directly to an address provided by that network, and MoneroSwap claims it never takes custody of user funds. They also clearly state that this is not an atomic or trustless swap: the third-party settlement network temporarily controls the funds while the swap is being executed.
Their KYC model is more interesting than that of most instant exchanges. They claim no account, no email, no KYC, and no logs. The key difference is that, according to MoneroSwap, AML screening takes place before a deposit address is issued. If the settlement network does not want to process a transaction, the idea is that the user either never sends the funds in the first place or receives a refund to a previously provided refund address if the swap cannot be completed.
Because of this, MoneroSwap does not describe the typical "we received your funds, then an AML flag, then send us your ID" scenario. However, there is an important caveat: the behavior of the settlement network itself is outside MoneroSwap's control, which MoneroSwap also acknowledges.
From a privacy perspective, the technical setup looks fairly solid. They claim to use no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party browser calls. Tor access is available and can work without JavaScript. Swap Pass data is stored in the URL fragment, and the frontend is open source.
The repository does exist, but only the frontend is open source. The server-side proxy, which holds the API key and communicates with the settlement provider, remains closed source. As a result, it is not possible to independently verify the entire server-side swap flow.
