Swapping LTC to BCH is a common move between two of Bitcoin's earliest forks - both proof-of-work, both with fast and cheap on-chain settlement. Holders typically rotate from Litecoin into Bitcoin Cash to access BCH-native tools like CashTokens, SLP assets, or the larger 32MB block capacity for high-volume payments. Why LTC -> BCH specifically
Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash share a near-identical UTXO model inherited from Bitcoin, but the use cases diverge. Liquidity for this pair is moderate. Both assets are listed nearly everywhere, so quoted rates across aggregated providers tend to cluster within 0.3-0.8 percent of mid-market. Spreads widen on amounts above ~50 LTC where some providers route through BTC as an intermediary leg.
What to check before you swap
- Network match: send native LTC on the Litecoin chain and receive native BCH on the Bitcoin Cash chain. Do not confuse BCH with wrapped variants (BCH-BEP20, etc.) - the address formats differ and funds are not recoverable across chains.
