Standard fee 0.5% plus network costs, fixed-rate quote locked for 15 minutes, no KYC for fiat purchases under ~$700-800 No KYC for the standard crypto-to-crypto flow — no signup, no email required for most swaps. However, deposits are analyzed for blacklisted sources via automated AML scanning. Flagged transactions may require KYC/SoF verification to complete the trade or unfreeze funds. Per the platform's own description, if a transaction meets suspicious criteria — triggers ranging from on-chain or IP obfuscation to transaction patterns — the exchange is paused and the user is requested to undergo KYC. ChangeHero uses a third-party provider with AI-powered liveness checks. The track record nuance: This is where ChangeHero falls noticeably short of the cleanest tier. There are several detailed, recent, and credible Trustpilot/BestChange complaints about how the AML system actually plays out for users who do get flagged: A user who initiated a $10,000 swap had funds frozen for KYC/AML, complied with bank statements, proof of income, and ID videos, then was hit with demands for notarized translations of every document into English, an origin-of-funds report, and even proof of attending crypto conferences. Submitted documents five times. Funds still frozen, $1,000+ spent on notarizations, 100+ hours wasted, support only saying "Your case is under review." A March 2025 case via Ledger Live: 40,000 USDC to BTC swap frozen, user provided ID/transaction ID/selfie verification, then was asked for "a statement from your mobile operator proving your phone number is registered under your name" — at which point they refused further compliance.
