A crypto swap calculator converts one coin to another at a neutral market reference rate — on notkyc, each calculator page such as BTC → XMR shows a mid-market rate from public market data, updated hourly — so you can see how much an exchange's live quote deviates from the market. The calculator is a benchmark, not an offer: the amount you actually receive comes from the live quotes on the swap table, which include each exchange's spread and fees. Comparing the two tells you whether a quote is fair.

Calculator vs live swap quote
| Calculator (reference) | Swap table (live quotes) | |
|---|---|---|
| What it shows | Mid-market market rate | What each exchange will pay you |
| Includes spread and fees | No | Yes |
| Updated | Hourly | Live |
| Use it to | Estimate value, sanity-check quotes | Pick an exchange and swap |
How to use the calculator to judge a quote (step by step)
- Open the calculator for your pair, e.g. USDT → BTC, and enter your amount.
- Note the reference amount.
- Open the live quotes on the matching swap page, e.g. USDT → BTC.
- Compare: the gap between reference and quote is roughly the exchange's spread plus payout fee. Around 0.5–1.5% is typical for liquid pairs.
- Be suspicious of quotes far above the reference — they may not match the actual order (fake rates) or may be below the exchange's minimum.
- Check the order screen before sending.
What the gap tells you
- Small gap (under ~1%): a competitive quote on a liquid pair.
- Larger gap (1–3%): common on small or volatile coins — see spread and slippage.
- Quote better than the market: possible briefly, but check the exchange's limits and honesty flags.
- Remember timing: the reference updates hourly; fast markets can move more in between — best time to swap.
Other tools for rates
For automation, use the public rates API (guide); in Telegram, the rate bot (guide). All show the same live quotes as the swap table.
Frequently asked questions
What is a crypto swap calculator?
A tool that converts an amount of one coin to another at a market reference rate, so you can estimate value and check exchange quotes.
Is the calculator rate what I'll receive?
No. It's a mid-market benchmark without spreads or fees. What you receive is the live quote from the exchange you choose.
How often is the calculator updated?
The reference rate on notkyc's calculator pages updates hourly from public market data.
Why is a quote lower than the calculator?
Exchanges include their spread and the payout network fee. Comparing quotes across exchanges shows who is cheapest.
Can I swap directly from the calculator?
The calculator links to the live rates page for the pair, where you choose an exchange and swap with no account.
