To track a crypto transaction, copy its transaction ID (TXID, also called the transaction hash) from your wallet's history and paste it into a block explorer for that blockchain — it shows whether the transaction is pending or confirmed, how many confirmations it has, the amount, the fee and the receiving address. The TXID is also the one thing an exchange's support team needs (with your order ID) to find a deposit. Monero is the exception: its explorers can't show addresses or amounts, so you prove a payment with a transaction key instead. Track any swap this way.
- 1 TXID per transaction
- ~10 min per Bitcoin confirmation
- ~2 min per Monero block
- Seconds on Tron, Solana and TON
Where to find your TXID
- Wallet app: open the transaction in your history and look for "Transaction ID", "TXID", "Hash" or "View on explorer".
- Exchange: the withdrawal details show the TXID once it's broadcast.
- Swap order page: after the deposit is detected and when the payout is sent, many exchanges show both TXIDs.
Block explorers by blockchain
| Blockchain | What the explorer shows | Typical confirmation time |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | Inputs, outputs, amounts, fee, confirmations | ~10 min per block |
| Ethereum and EVM chains | From, to, value, gas, token transfers, status | Seconds to minutes |
| Tron (TRC-20 USDT) | From, to, token amount, energy/fee | Seconds |
| Solana | Signature, accounts, token transfers | Seconds |
| TON | From, to, amount, comment/memo | Seconds |
| Monero | Block, fee, ring members — no addresses or amounts | ~2 min per block, 10 to unlock |
Use the explorer for the exact chain you sent on — USDT on Tron won't appear on an Ethereum explorer. See sent crypto to the wrong network.
How to read a transaction (step by step)
- Paste the TXID into the explorer's search box.
- Check the status: "pending/unconfirmed" means it's waiting for a block; "success/confirmed" with a number means it's included.
- Check confirmations: exchanges credit deposits after a set number — more for larger amounts.
- Check the destination address matches the deposit address of your order, character by character.
- Check the amount and token — e.g. USDT, not a lookalike token.
- If pending for long on Bitcoin, the fee may be too low; see swap stuck.
Tracking Monero transactions
Because Monero hides sender, receiver and amount, an explorer only confirms the transaction exists and how many confirmations it has. To prove you paid someone, your wallet can show a transaction key (tx key); the recipient or support can check it against their address. Your received payments appear only in your own wallet, which scans with your view key. Why this works is explained in is Monero traceable; fees in Monero transaction fees.
Tracking a swap end to end
A swap has two transactions: your deposit and the exchange's payout. On notkyc each swap has an order page and email updates showing the status — waiting for deposit, confirming, exchanging, sending, finished. If the deposit TXID is confirmed but the order hasn't moved, contact the exchange with the order ID and TXID. Choose exchanges with a public track record for faster support, and remember a block explorer is public: anyone with your TXID can see the transaction on transparent chains (see privacy mistakes).
Frequently asked questions
What is a TXID?
A transaction ID (or hash) is a unique string that identifies a transaction on a blockchain. You use it to look the transaction up in a block explorer.
How do I check if my crypto transaction went through?
Paste the TXID into a block explorer for that blockchain. If it shows "confirmed" or "success" with confirmations, it went through.
Why is my transaction pending?
It hasn't been included in a block yet — often because the fee was low or the network is busy. On Bitcoin you can sometimes speed it up with Replace-By-Fee.
How many confirmations do exchanges need?
It varies by coin and amount: often 1–3 for Bitcoin, a dozen or more for Ethereum-based tokens, and 10 for Monero. The order page shows progress.
Can I track a Monero transaction?
You can confirm it exists and count confirmations, but explorers can't show addresses or amounts. Use the transaction key from your wallet to prove a payment.
Swap and track every step: USDT → BTC, BTC → XMR or all no-KYC pairs. No account, no ID, no logs.
