Both coins must be in the catalog; unknown tickers return an error immediately. Read-only — the API compares rates; it doesn't create swaps.

The response lists quotes sorted best-first. Each quote contains service, slug, rate, receive, grade, url and a best flag, plus the overall best_rate, from and amount. Quotes are live, so values change minute to minute. See the field reference on the API docs.

Privacy and fair use
The API follows the site's no-logs approach: usage counters are kept in memory for rate limiting and aren't written to disk. Requests over the limit get HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. Crawlers are excluded from /api/ via robots.txt so that partner exchanges aren't flooded. Quotes reflect exchanges' live APIs; always confirm the final amount on the order screen before sending (why that matters).
